Based on the belief that we are all capable of making music, Katy facilitates musical collaboration by providing a non-judgmental environment in which people can express themselves through music and creativity. A member of the faculty at Concord Community Music School, Katy has directed Sunflower Singers, a participatory singing group for people with disabilities and their caregivers since 2005, creating opportunities for individuals to sing and play instruments together, perform for each other, engage in song writing and grow through music.
She is founder and director of The Jammers, a volunteer band at Temple Beth Jacob in Concord, NH, is a Certified Music Practitioner through MHTP which enables her to provide prescriptive music with her voice and guitar to individuals of all ages in health care and home settings for healing.
A music educator since the 1980s, Katy also works with individuals, camps and schools to provide instruction in recorder, piano and singing, call folk dances, and lead group singing and musical story creation to create a musical culture within an organization.
